Africa offers a unique convergence of factors for medicinal cannabis production that no other region can match.
Climate
Lesotho’s high-altitude subtropical climate delivers exceptional light intensity, low humidity and natural pest resistance. These are ideal growing conditions that dramatically reduce input costs versus indoor European or Canadian operations. Natural UV exposure at altitude enhances terpene and cannabinoid production.
Cost
Labour, land and energy costs in Lesotho are a fraction of European equivalents. A fully operational cultivation site in Lesotho costs less to build and run than a single indoor grow room in Germany.
Regulatory First Mover
Lesotho was the first African country to grant licences for medicinal cannabis cultivation and export, establishing a clear legal framework now followed by South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi and others.
EU Trade Access
Lesotho-produced medicinal cannabis can be exported to EU markets under the same GACP frameworks that govern pharmaceutical raw material supply chains. Our GACP certification is in place, and we are targeting EU-GMP certification by the end of 2026 with the completion of our own processing facility.
